Olympic Poem

Friendship
Strong, helpful,
Racing, passing, riding
Volley ball, water polo, respect, gymnastics,
Fast, nervous, confident
Swimming, competing,
Equestrian.
Why are there five Olympic rings ?

My Speech

I think that if I qualified for the Olympics I should not go because in Rio there have been some bad things going down for them. Some people have been robbed and kidnapped. It is a dangerous place. I would like to go but it is so scary so I would not. If I was selected to go as an athlete I would not go! No! No! No! You could be bitten by a mosquito which makes a disease, a really bad one. I could even be killed by them. No, I know I don't want to go, 100 percent.

There is a virus in Rio called zika, which is spread by mosquitos.  It affects unborn babies and they are born with big health problems. It makes a baby's life really, really bad. I would not go to Rio in case I got the disease because I might have to stay in the hospital and I might not be allowed to come home to New Zealand.

Some of the Olympic village was not finished properly when the athletes arrived.  The buildings are very close together and no one likes them. When the New Zealand team arrived at their Olympic village they had to fix them up themselves.   There is also a lot of rubbish in the water which makes it dangerous for some athletes to compete. I would not like to be a rower or a sailor in those stinky water ways.

There have been some robberies and kidnappings happening which has been scaring the athletes.  The Australian athletes had a fire in their accommodation and when they went outside some people broke into their rooms and stole things. If I was an athlete I would be really mad that someone had taken my stuff. I bet they didn’t think someone would rob them when they were outside in a fire.

I think I should not go to the Olympics because that has been some terrible things happening.  I told you why, but here’s a reminder. There has been a virus, fires and stealing. I don’t think I would feel safe at the Rio Olympics, so I would definitely not go!

cross country 201

At the cross country we had to run the yellow track. I was behind Issy but she got me because Harmony ran with me so I was not allowed to pass her but i still got 7 place. It was at Gabriels Gully. I was really proud of myself. We came on a  a school bus I sat by Caitlyn and Grace. I hope I will get to go to South Otago. If I was to go I would run as fast and I would train every day. Fingers crossed for me.

My koru family

Mum and Dad are surrounding Harmony and I.  They are protecting us.  Harmony is near Dad because she always goes with him.  I hang out with Mum.
